Escape into the Hill Country and join us on a challenging hike of Enchanted Rock. Along the way, we cover the flora and fauna of the area, with opportunities for bird watching.

Itinerary: 

• 7:30AM Pick up in Austin

  • If you are staying in the downtown or South Austin area, text or call us 713-338-9347 to arrange door pick up. Otherwise, meet in front of the Texas Capitol at the 11th Street and Congress Avenue intersection.

• 7:45-9:45AM Ride to Enchanted Rock.

  • Activities on board include Lone Star Bingo and informational cards about the flora and fauna of Enchanted Rock. Restroom stops are available.

• 10:00-11:00AM Hike Enchanted Rock (see note below)*

  • Your guide will lead you up the rock with breaks along the way to talk about the flora and fauna of the area.​

• 11:00AM-12:00PM Explore the Rock

  • ​Look at the oasis pools, take pictures, point out various features of the area such as the old quarry, the cave, and Turkey Peak. Cave exploration is not allowed with our tour due to the risks.

• 12:00-1:00PM Walk down the rock.

• 1:00-1:30PM Lunch & Rest

  • After you've booked we will send an email so you can indicate your sandwich preference. Vegetarian options are available. Please let us know of other dietary restrictions.​

• 1:30-2:30PM Optional hike for birdwatching or exploring the rock from below. 

• 2:30-4:30PM Return to Austin

 

*Note: This hike is labelled challenging by Texas State Parks due to its 440ft increase in elevation and steep grade. Not recommended for those who are pregnant, older than 60, or with other mobility, heart, lung, or other medical conditions. For more information please visit the Enchanted Rock website. Private tours allow for more flexibility for trails the guide will accompany you on such as The Loop Trail which is moderate and allows for great views of the Texas Hill Country.

• Comfortable walking shoes, hiking shoes are preferred.

• Sunscreen and a hat.

• Optional: binoculars, sunglasses

Weather: Severe thunderstorms, temperatures above 90 degrees, or extreme winds can lead to tour cancellation. We will let you know as soon as possible if a tour is cancelled and work to get you rebooked or refunded.

 

Refund Policy: Cancellations or changes are allowed up to 48 hours before your tour for your choice of a full refund or a voucher for a future booking of equal price. If we cancel for any reason (such as weather) you will receive a full refund.

Note: Reservations on weekends can sell out up to 2 weeks in advance. Book early to assure you get a spot!
